December 9th Offerings

Chanukah oh Chanukah… The perfect excuse to have Mel make another batch of the Canele chopped liver recipe. This isn’t your grandma’s chopped liver. This version is rich with bacon, whiskey, and butter and is a holy taste of heaven on toast or crackers with dijon and cornichons. This week only, Mel is baking an organic rye loaf with caraway seeds and kosher pickle brine instead of her classic sourdough… Great for corned beef or turkey sandwiches, a grilled cheese with gruyere and caramelized onions, dipping into split pea soup, or topped with Rui’s smoked whitefish spread.

For a decadent Chanukah dinner, there’s prepared chicken soup plus a matzoh ball kit (you just shape, cook and add to soup). Buy both if you want to make a big pot of matzoh ball soup. Mel is braising briskets. Each order comes with a pound of brisket in braising jus and a side of horseradish cream (made with homemade creme fraiche.) The farm box will include potatoes so you can fry latkes, and Jared is making a batch of honeycrisp applesauce to go with them. Jared is also making buttery brioche donut holes with a raspberry dipping sauce and nutella rugelach for dessert.

In addition to whole, free-range chickens, we are offering bone-in beef short ribs for your winter braising pleasure. And finally, there is salmon roe to top latkes, Mel’s rye bread, or save for some blinis on New Years'. We will post recipes for braised short ribs, latkes, split pea soup with rye croutons, pickled red onions for your brisket, salmon roe ideas, and more.

Click each item below to add to your cart. Order deadline extended to Sunday, 12/06 at noon.
