Thanksgiving offerings

Next week’s produce box will be geared toward Thanksgiving meals. The box will have yellow onions, garlic, shallots, eggs, fruit and an herb bundle with thyme, sage and parsley. We’ll also be getting slightly larger amounts of several cooking vegetables so you can make a side dish or two or three with the content of the box.

We will provide produce and recipes for the following:

  • golden Weiser potatoes for mashed potatoes

  • red cabbage for sweet and sour cabbage

  • sweet potatoes

  • brussels sprouts for braised brussel sprouts with bacon and balsamic

  • cauliflower or romanesco cauliflower to have with the bagna cauda from the prepared food menu

  • winter squash

(Of course this is subject to change based on availability.)

The prepared Thanksgiving menu from our chefs, includes turkey breasts and thighs cooked separately (which defies tradition but not taste or logic) and a porchetta (which is magnificent and I recommend getting one to freeze for a later occasion if it wont be gracing your Thanksgiving table.) All of these proteins are cooked and only need to be reheated or finished in your kitchen. (We will provide instructions.) There are also classic sides, sauces, and pies. Everything is portioned to serve 2-4 people, so you can order multiple portions depending on the size of your party (appetites and desire for leftovers.)
